I enjoyed this first impression with rich images of Savannah (the charming, touristy pieces as well as some of the darker, shadowy parts) and vivid, atypical characters. There are hints of magic in this first impression but I'm not sure this is a fantasy story though it seems like there's fantastical elements.

There's plenty here that has made me curious to learn more about Ransom Musgrove's family and his backstory, I definitely want to know what happened to Stony and what might be happening in the Kingdom. And, on top of that, there's someone behind bars for murder proclaiming his innocence though he clearly has a broken moral compass in his business dealings. I'm looking forward to seeing how this unfolds and ultimately (hopefully) wraps up.
