Wish I Had Read The Author's Note First

Although there would have been spoilers, I wish The Kingdom of Back had started with the extensive author's note. I was unaware that Mozart had a sister, so I thought this entire book was ensconced in the alternate history genre. Surprisingly enough, there was a historical basis for a good portion of the novel.

Nannerl was a foolish girl and her story was projected as overly dramatic by the narrator of the audiobook. I cannot say that I really liked The Kingdom of Back all that much, as the central story was predictable and I was not a fan as to how the characters were portrayed. If I had gone in knowing that there was more fact to the story than fiction, it might have changed how I viewed the novel. Having read most of the novels written by author Marie Lu, I would put this one closer to the bottom for richness of story and overall characterization.
