Marie Lu is one of my all-time favorite authors. So I clearly had high hopes for this book. I was not let down at all.

This book takes place in 18th century Europe... and therefore, her hopes of being that famous composer are very slim, as it's frowned upon for young women to want these things. Her father has made it very clear this isn't to happen.
As her hopes grow dimmer, her brother, Wolfgang, becomes more and more talented. She starts to give up hope, and then one day, a stranger from a far-off land offers her all the help she needs... but at what price!?
