Marie Lu again proves she is a master storyteller in The Kingdom of Back. The writing is flawless. It took my breath away. I felt like I was right there, seeing everything and hearing everything through Nannerl's eyes. The world Marie created is stunning. Not only is Europe during the time period which the Mozart siblings lived brought to life for the reader but the Kingdom of Back is given life. The cover only hints at what the Kingdom contains (and what a gorgeous cover it is too!). The family dynamics within the Mozart family were something that was easily relatable to, especially the sibling jealously. Because who with a sibling who has never felt like they are being overshadowed by their brother or sister at one time or another?
