This is a beautiful story that can be difficult to read at times.
It seamlessly weaves together magic and reality!

Overall, Kingdom of Back was everything I could have wanted and didn't know I wanted-- beautifully written fantasy with Mozart's sister, Nannerl, her genius being constrained by the times and overlooked because of her brother, the prodigy that we know as Mozart. What would it be like, to live during those times? To also be able to escape into a fantasy world where you were promised all your dreams could come true? Would you take that opportunity even if it may hurt the ones you love the most? I can imagine the Nannerl's relationship with her younger brother was a love-hate one, exactly as the way Marie portrays it. This book is also a love story dedicated to music, particularly Mozart's music, and the history behind the Mozart family.
