Read entirely in one day, couldn't put it down. Marie Lu's writing is so poetic and lovely. I could really picture the Kingdom of Back. The whole thing feels like a beautiful fairy tale and is quite different from her other books. Perfect escapism.

It's always great to read about a sibling relationship especially one as tumultuous as this. Wolfgang is the thing standing in the way of her success, or really it's society standing in the way but her brother exemplifies this. It's infuriating to read about all the things in her way when she's so talented. This was a feminist book without ever getting obnoxious and preachy. It just shows her frustration in a way that's very well illustrated and relatable.
