Marie Lu has such a way with words. I truly think it's magic. Everything flows together so perfectly. She's descriptive without being overbearing. She is endlessly eloquent and naturally talented. Her books always make me fall in love within the first ten pages. The Kingdom of Back is no exception to this.
The characters in this book feel real and grounded. The time period feels like it's own character, as well. The siblings, expressing both affection and annoyances with each other, were incredibly heartwarming to read.
