I love Marie Lu and knew I would love this before I read the first look, but the writing, the fantasy elements, the historical and family elements, all blew me out of the water. Everything about this book looks good! It's a departure from what I would expect Marie Lu to write but a completely welcome one; I'm so excited to see a favorite author explore a new historical-fantastical genre with two amazing characters pulled from real life.
