Firstly, the cover is gorgeous. And the title is very intriguing. Also, Marie Lu is the author. These elements are enough to make me want to read the book. But I was very curious about the Mozart retelling. From any other author, that element would make me cautious about reading it, but Lu's prose in these pages is out of this world. In just a few chapters, I am already ensorcelled by this mysterious Kingdom of Back and its princeling. I can already tell that it is going to be a wonderfully descriptive book. Plotwise, I am really interested in the sibling struggles, how will her relationship to her brother develop once he gets the attention she wants? Will this speak out for feminist issues (I hope)? And of course, I am so excited to learn more about what Hyacinth needs from Nannerl. I can feel the plot twists coming, it is going to be a wild ride!
