I was intrigued by the premise of this book and even the initial glimpses into the mystery and future action of the story were intriguing enough. However, I couldn't quite connect with the writing itself. It felt overly dramatic and flowery in the very first introduction bit, and then was a bit clunky and stilted when we got to the actual chapters. Just didn't really work for me. The cover also seems at odds with the story, making it look like this is going to be a space adventure rather than a story set under the sea.
