Did not finish. I am definitely in the minority here, b/c on Goodreads, "The Janes" gets very high marks. However, I found "The Janes" pretty much unreadable. Alice Vega is a COMPLETELY unbelievable character, and Max Caplan isn't much better, as he spies on and drools after her, almost unable to do his job because of it. I felt more time was spent on their interaction, the inane thoughts in their heads about each other, than the actual story. Perhaps I would have been better served to read the first book in this series; it might've explained their relationship and I would have been more invested in the characters. I like my female detectives/PIs to be tough, but realistic. I didn't see much realistic about Alice Vega. Just didn't work for me.
