Alice Vega is asked to assist in an investigation into the deaths of two young girls, and calls her friend Max Caplan (Cap) to help.
This is my first Alice Vega book, and I HAVE to read the first one - I loved these characters! (I especially liked Cap’s daughter Nell, even though she didn’t have a huge part in this novel - a very believable teenager.). There were some great twists that I didn’t see coming. Alice Vega is a fascinating character, from the morning handstands, to the “weapon” she kept in the trunk of her car. And Cap — very human, such a tough guy, trying so hard to be a good father. I hope that there will be more books with Alice Vega and Cap - there is definitely great chemistry there, and potential for some great reads!
