The Janes focuses on a strong Latinx lead. Alice Vega, the protagonist, is surprisingly not the only character of color, much to my pleasure. Though I haven't read the first book in the series, reading this excerpt makes me want to go back and read it. The story immediately grabs your attention. Can't wait to see where this mystery leads!
