This excerpt hooked me right away. I love the somewhat unconventional opening, with the narrator speaking as if we readers are the audience. Then we dive into Alice Vega's narration, which is well written and left me wanting to read more. I haven't read the first book, Two Girls Down, and in fact hadn't even heard of it. But now I need to buy and binge-read these two books!
