I firmly believe that the mark of a good author is how much you care for the characters. I cared about the unnamed girl in the first chapter immediately. I was only slightly less intrigued by Alice Vega herself, but I have also had the authors first book in the series, Two Girls Down, on my list for a while, so the fact this I am interested in the story may have less to do with the book and more to do with the fact that I love crime fiction. Regardless, this is definitely one I will be picking up!
