To be honest, this sounds like a typical run of the mill mystery novel. I do not know anything about this author, or her book series, so not much is drawing me in. I would be curious to see if her character, Alice Vega, is a great detective, but I think there's probably other mystery novels I'd prefer to invest my time into.
