The Invocations is a YA fantasy with both horror and thriller aspects! This is not a debut, the author also wrote House of Hollow which I loved and some other YA books. There is also sapphic representation in this book. I love when books are multi-genre, this did a great job of doing that. While the big bad in this book was predictable, I really enjoyed this one. I already had a feeling I'd liked it since I loved the author's other book House of Hollow. I also really enjoyed the witchy magic in this one, as well as the switching POV's. It jumps from Jude, Zara and Emer. I wish the chapter titles did say what POV we are in. Jude was my favorite character, but I also liked the other two. Zara and Jude have to team up to save Emer's life, but they each have their own agenda too. I liked seeing their character arcs and how they progressed throughout the story
