I haven't liked most dark academia books I've read (besides Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo), so I was reluctant to take a chance on this, but I'm glad I did because this was a very pleasant surprise! I loved the characters. The most important ones (Jude, Emer, Zara) have a lot of depth to them and are easy to get relate to. I also liked the theme of female rage--I will eat up any book with this theme. The mystery, fantasy and horror elements were all equally well done. There's also a bit of romance. It's well-written and engaging. My only critique is that there were some moments of stagnation with the plot, but they didn't last for long.

I think dark academia fans, fantasy fans and sapphic romance fans alike will really appreciate this. Heck, even people who don't typically like those things might like it. It was THAT good. I would definitely recommend this.
