The cover is errie and intriguing, the prologue intense and creepy. Emer has many tricks to survive in the world as a ghost no one would remember. Jude is paying the price for magic in gruesome ways. I found her introduction disorienting for a couple pages until more of her backstory is revealed. She is sarcastic and funny, as is her brother Elijah, and I looked forward to seeing more of her story. Zara is full of grief and rage and determined to bring her sister back from the dead. It will be great to see these three girls meet and work together!
