This book is genuinely one of the best YA, coming-of-age novels I've read. I found it because I had listened to Shippen's podcast, The Bright Sessions, and absolutely adored it, so when I found out that she was writing a book about the character I resonated the most with, Caleb Michaels, I was ecstatic.

This book is witty, fast-paced, and emotional. It's gripping from the first page. One of my favorite parts of this book is how Shippen introduces the ideas of atypicality without overwhelming the reader with worldbuilding and information about these superhero-like people. Additionally, she writes teenagers, especially queer ones in a way that feels incredibly honest and accurate to how we talk, act, and interact. I loved this book so much, and can't wait to read what Shippen does next. Ten out of ten stars, and always one of my favorite re-reads.
