I was not impressed with the first look at this book. The story starts off as being conversation-driven: between the boy and the counselor, between two boys, etc. These boys are too self-aware. In my opinion, the author is trying too hard to make a point in these first pages by making these teenagers more self-aware than teenagers normally are.
