It's easy to see how The Infinite Noise got its start as a podcast; a good portion of the narrative and exposition is communicated via dialogue. Through Caleb's conversation with his school psychologist, we (and the protagonist) learn of Atypicals -- a group of people who have the ability to experience empathy to an extreme degree. Think Rogue from X-Men, except instead of siphoning powers, Caleb has the supernatural ability to absorb other people's emotions. It's an intriguing premise, and one I'm interested in reading further.
