When I saw the cover, I was immediately hooked. The dark colors surrounding the two bright colored main characters interested me. I guessed that the book might have a deep meaning due to the main characters being the only bright colored part of the cover. I also assumed that it could potentially be a book with some LGBTQ+ undertones, because the two mains are male.
The books sounds so interesting and really intriguing; Caleb having the ability of enhanced empathy is so very cool and unique. That's also how I assumed that it might be a deep book, because Caleb feels the emotions of the people that surround him. It's such an amazing description of what the story involves, and I'm hooked already. The story is something that hasn't really been done like this before, so I can't wait to read how Lauren Shippen will write it and explain Caleb's ability. I also can't wait to find out about Adam's life and his story/past.
