The excerpt was really interesting and makes me want to read more. However, the intro therapist session is kind of boring. And the therapist talking about the more-than-humans was kind of unexplained. I feel like someone in the family would have been alerted by it. So is it a known thing in their world or what? Also, Adam’s self harm makes me worried that Caleb will have to “save” him, which is not accurate. There’s just a lot that could go wrong in this plot, and I hope that the author doesn’t make those mistakes. The cover is beautiful. I would definitely check this book out from the library.
