I got an ad concerning this website on instagram and I was absolutely astonished that the book I’m anticipating most had twenty pages I could read before having to wait for the date i’ve marked on a countdown clock! After the cover for The Infinite Noise was released I couldn’t contain my excitement and stimmed for a while on a bus ride home with my friend! She’s listened to a bit of the the podcast in which Caleb and Adam are from and although she hasn’t finished it yet, she shared in my excitement. It’s a remarkable cover, finally giving a form to the characters that have existed only in audio. Not to mention the amazing use of color which plays into Caleb’s ability, and the high school scene around the two being surreal yet oddly understandable. Now onto the twenty pages I read just now. As my title states, I am absolutely in love with the preview. Being written by Lauren Shippen, I already knew I was going to be able to just fall into the pages and let the story form around me as I did almost exactly a year ago when I listened to The Bright Sessions for the first time. Again with visualing previously only audiotory characters, visual descriptions such as Adam describing the color of Caleb’s eyes is such a wonderful and refreshing reintroduction to the characters, allowing a similar story to be told without just repeating the podcast’s plot. Also, I was so, so, so excited to see that Adam has chapters about his perspective! Again with keeping it refreshing, allowing the reader to be able to see the thoughts of Adam rather than just Caleb’s is going to give an extremely interesting look into the other half of the equation. I am very much looking forward to how Caleb’s empathy is going to be translated into text, I’m sure the way color will be used is going to be breathtaking! Gosh okay, the looks into Caleb and Adam’s lives away from Dr. Bright’s office is just so wonderful as well! More information about how Adam feels about his parents, and the part when Alice is on Caleb’s bed flesh out the lives of these characters so well. All of that and more just in twenty pages!! I’m just so so excited for this book to be released.
