Hard to tell where the story is going

The inner dialogue of the introductory character took me straight back to my own experiences and thoughts in highschool. The next point of view character equally held my attention; however, the story itself soon veered and finally lost it's bearings by the second chapter. I would likely continue reading 'The Infinite Noise' out of pure curiosity, and the hope that maybe the characters could redeem the plot. It's chances of staying open in hands though, were looking slim.

I am a fan of the cover art, and I'm giving this one 2 stars because at least the characters are good. Maybe the third chapter brings everything back on track.
