The immortalists is about four siblings visiting a mysterious woman searching for their ""death dates". Chloe Benjamin tells the life story of each sibling by their perspectives.

This book is basically a collection of tragic stories. Beginning with Simon, Chloe portraits well 80's reality and all the racism about sexual choices and job. How Simon's life is all linked to Klara: his life becomes such a burden to hers and the fact that his end is like a constant burden which haunts her every single day of her life untill the very end.
When it comes to Daniel's perspective, you hope that he can find a better life than his siblings. And then more sorrow.
Finally, all three together defines Varya's destiny: her career and her choices. She had almost given up when she finds a light in the end of the tunnel - there is not such things as destiny,

You realize that thoughts might make things come true but you are responsible for giving the wings to the thoughts.

The book is slow in some parts but overall beautifully written. Chloe knows how to awake us by some true philosophies inside - food for thoughts.
