The Immortalists - wonderful read!
Synopsis: If you knew the date of your death, how would you live your life?
In 1969, NYC, there is a traveling psychic who can tell anyone the day they die. The four Gold children hear their fates. The story unfolds over five decades. Simon escapes to San Francisco, Klara becomes a Las Vegas magician, Daniel becomes an army doctor, and Varya becomes a longevity research.
I absolutely loved how this story was told, glimpses into each of the four Gold children during different key life moments and decades. I loved Simon and Kara's stories on the west coast and how they struggled with many internal things but found their identities. They each had very emotional story lines for me.
I really enjoyed this was a story of destiny and choice and familial bonds. However, the rest of the story focusing on Daniel and Varya was not as well developed for me and I began to lose interest in these two.
