Though I personally would not want to know the date of my death, I still thought the concept of the kids learning their death dates was interesting. I was looking forward to finding out how this information impacted their decisions and lives. I really enjoyed the first two stories that covered Simon and Klara. They were very interesting characters. Maybe that was because I believed that those characters were for the most part living the life that they wanted. I felt that their lives, while shorter, were more fulfilling. The last two stories were a bit boring. I felt that the second half of the book was only worth reading to find out what happened to the supporting characters (mainly Robert & Ruby) from the first half of the book. I just didn't care about Daniel and Varya. In my opinion they lived boring lives and did what was expected, and it seemed like a waste. Maybe that was the point. Would we take more chances and live the way we really want if we know that we are going to die at an earlier age?
