Chloe Benjamin was the buzz of 2018 and after reading her new book, I can decidedly say that this was deservedly so. Though the book follows so many different characters, each remain distinct in my mind. This, I believe, is the true beauty of the novel; that siblings, who at once share everything, share nothing, who can seem so similar at first, but be written so differently.

I also enjoyed the insight into all of the side characters readers were afforded, specifically the partners of each sibling. Benjamin's masterful descriptions and dialogues concerning Raj, a partner of the youngest sister, is particularly memorable for its comprehensive and unflinching look into race, class, and the generational experience of immigrant families, and how this affects one's relationships.
