The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin has been all over my Goodreads news feed for a long time so I figured I would check it out. I have to say that I really don't understand what was so amazing about this story. I rarely ever give a book less than three stars, but I had to give this one only two stars. I have seen people post that they love it, but I have also seen some who found issues with it. I am definitely in the latter category because this book just wasn't for me. Maybe it is my own fault for reading the synopsis and thinking that there would be some element of magic or magical realism, but I just didn't get it. It never really clicked for me and I found myself putting this book down constantly and then dreading when I would pick it back up again. It was quite dull with the pacing being as slow as it was. I definitely couldn't push myself to finish this book. I'm sure others will enjoy it.
