The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin was sad, and not at all what I was expecting. The premise is a fresh one, and The Immortalists was certainly a unique story. However, it was so depressing that I had struggled as I was reading it. The four siblings suffered under the burden of knowing their death dates and lived accordingly. Each of their lives was significantly altered in a negative way by knowing their alleged "death dates". I was hoping at least one of them would challenge the idea or investigate the woman who provided them their dates. I found The Immortalists hard to finish but it is a very thought-provoking book.. I would not recommend this book unless you are really wanting a depressing tale.
