Interesting tale of family, loss, and how the choices a person makes can affect so many others. The story is not what I originally thought it would be about. What initially caught my attention was the line "If you knew the date of your death, how would you live your life?". I knew it dealt with family dynamics, choices that people make, and how those choices can have long term effects. This part was true, however, instead of the positive things that could occur, it focused more on the negative. I know that this is reality, negative things happen in life, but so do the positive ones. Yes, towards the end, I started to enjoy more of the interactions of the remaining characters and was happy to see the positive personal growth of Varya. I just wish there had been more. This story does play with the heart strings and the reader does feel the sadness and heartbreak the characters experience. If you enjoy stories on family interactions, loss, heartbreak, and rebirth; then this story is for you! Overall, a good read!
