I would actually rate this book as a 3.5 because it was very well-written but just missing a little something. I enjoyed reading about the Gold siblings and their struggles and achievements in their lives after visiting a wise woman who tells them the day they are going to die. Varya, Daniel, Klara and Simon are all changed by the information they receive. After their father's death, they become estranged in ways. Simon, still a minor, and Klara escape to San Francisco while Daniel and Varya resent them for leaving while they try to take care of their mother. From there, they all experience ups and downs from their lives and losses. I connected with each of the siblings in different ways and felt for them like they were my own. Recommend for literary fiction lovers!
