This book places us in 1969, specifically in New York, where there is word that a woman has powers and can predict the exact date on which each person who asks her will die. Simon, Klara, Daniel and Varya, four teenage siblings, contact the fortune teller and want to know what the future has in store for them, without knowing very well what the consequences are.
The author introduces us to four siblings of different ages, both in their childhood / adolescence and in what will be the rest of their lives. As there are four main characters, the readers easily can connect with at least one and it should be noted that the author has done a great job letting us know them quite well.
I loved this book, it’s one that deals with infinite topics, going from homosexuality to sexual diseases and showing us problems and situations that each of us will go through throughout life.
In short, The Immortalists has been a read that I’ve enjoyed a lot, mainly because I loved the approach that the author has given to the novel, the many themes it deals with and how much involved it makes us feel in the experiences of its protagonists .
