An introduction to relatable characters in an era unfamiliar to many and marvelous attention to details. The switch in point of view may through you for a loop at first, but when you get further, it all makes sense. The bond with the beginning children is similar to the bond of any group of siblings. It creates a sense of reality and understanding in a work of fiction such as "Immortalists". The unknown woman the oldest brother mentions brings with her an aura of mystery and a need to know who she is and why she is so important. A "fortune teller" of sorts, her powers can reveal the good and bad aspects of a persons life, even to the very last moment. A must read and a page turner to literary lovers everywhere.
