What a brilliant opening. It is such an original opening. To begin the basis of a story spanning lifetimes on the prediction of death. The characters are compelling and I cannot wait to see how their lives unfold. I am impressed that in just a handful of pages I feel a connection to the Gold siblings. They are all so different and unique. They each pursue their own future in different ways. The most appealing thread of the siblings is how they each deal with the fortune teller's prediction of their death in different ways. It is fascinating to see their reactions. Should I go about my life as normal? Should I live like there is no tomorrow just in case? I cannot wait to see where the story goes.
