A character driven plot that focuses intently on each sibling of a family who have each learned when they will die. The time each character is given significantly impacts what they do with the time they have left, and how recklessly or cautiously they live the rest of their lives. I got attached to each character differently, and the fact that we knew how close they were each getting to the end made the reading experience sadder and more stressful. The siblings that had a shorter amount of time felt like they were grasping for whatever they could to make the most of their lives, and in one case made us know pretty much how it would end based on the time period and place they lived in. I hoped we would have been able to attach to siblings who survived longer, but the end of the story didn't have as much as a punch as the earlier endings in the story.
