This was such a fascinating and bittersweet book. I listened to it on audio and the person reading had a lovely voice that really brought out the emotion in the story. While each siblings' story was separate from the others, there were certain characters that appeared in multiple story lines which tied them together nicely. This book dealt with some very dark topics: illness, suicide, fanatical obsession. The book spans several decades, and I liked how it dealt with each era in unique ways, pulling in many different and important topics of the day.
