This one's been on my list since I first saw it on galley sites. It's fun to get a peek inside! The opening is instantly provocative. I'm going to love this style of deeply descriptive, shocking imagery. We are immediately drawn into downtown New York (the New Yorker in me is piqued, where are we going?) I am slowly being drawn into the mystery of the magical woman who lives on Hester St. I appreciate that I can't fully tell the genre yet...I love the the way the scene is slowly unfolding with the time period, the neighbors. This would be a fantastic winter read!
