Just from the description of the book, you can already tell this is going to be an intriguing story from the get-go! Chloe Benjamin is an incredibly descriptive writer and she makes it easy for the reader to fall right into the book from page one. I would almost say, however, that she can become too descriptive at times and provide details that I'm not sure we really need to know as readers, or to be honest, even really care about all that much. This book did draw me in and I do want to know what happens, but it's not really my type of novel. I try to stay away from things that involve divination and I was hoping this book would just barely graze it, but it has already talked about it more than I am comfortable with and so I'm going to pass on reading it in its entirety.
