I was hooked from the first page. The whole premise sounded intriguing, and the writing was more than good enough to back it up. The use of language was really well done. In the first chapter, the temperature is never specifically stated, but I could feel the heat and humidity described. But mostly I find myself needing to know what happens with the Gold children!
