I read this excerpt because the cover is gorgeous and the premise of the book sounded interesting. The reality of the book, however, was not interesting for me. The very first sentence included pubic hair, and I was not interested in reading more.
I did continue reading, however, and found that I just didn't care about the visit of the four siblings to the clairvoyant. The premise of the book as it continued is dark. Of course, the narrative of the book is about death, the death dates of the four siblings, and the death of their father Saul within the first chapters. This book just didn't urge me to keep reading.
