The way the story unfolds from the beginning you feel empathy for each of the four main characters. You get an insight into their family life. How they interact with each other and their parents with a general feeling of childhood claustrophobia living within a strict protective Jewish community in the late 60's and 70's The book holds your attention as you feel their sadness, and general feelings of loss at the death of their father and apprehension around their individual futures. The thread of the story is woven around a prediction they were each given as young children and how they deal with their own person revelation about the date of their deaths kept me spell bound.
