I was sorry to see this book end. What a fun read (even though there are some serious issues that are dealt with: a failed marriage, family budget constraints, job competition, keeping-up-with-the-Joneses neighbors), and people that are users. I am sure every woman will be able to relate to at least one character in this book and enjoy the author's treatment of these characters' lives. It is a thoroughly enjoyable book, and I marveled (and laughed) at the author's ability to capture snarky and catty personalities with her choice of words. One of my favorites came fairly early in the book where a co-worker's husband is surprised that the woman's family background was in Queens. The way he rocks back on his heels - the reader just knows this man is assessing the woman in a new and less flattering way- and then adds, "My farrier [lives there.]" There were simply too many good parts to name them all, and besides, then there's be the need for a spoiler alert. I have already alerted several friends that I know they will enjoy this book. I am thrilled that I had the opportunity to receive the ARC because I not only enjoyed the book but now want to read other books by Judy Blundell. I remember feeling this way many years ago after I first read a Jodi PIccoult book. I am not making a comparison between the two authors, just mentioning my enthusiasm for the author's work!
