I really enjoyed the excerpt! I will definitely be reading this over the summer. I love that the main character seems to be a bit of a realist and her life isn't all roses. A bit into the first chapter, we are also introduced to Adeline who seems to be so polished and perfect and bright. Add in a slightly cranky teenage daughter and an amicable, soon to become an ex (or is he?), husband and you have a perfect combination for a beach-y read.
I can't wait to see learn more about each character and how their interactions will influence each other. How will they all grow over the summer? Will the divorce be cancelled? Will Adeline romance the carpenter/artist husband?
The writing style is vivid and flows. I could easily visualize all the details (even down to the soap by the sink) and almost smell the salty, humid air. I will be looking for other books by this author as well.
