First off, I loved the quaint location that his book was set in. I love that it was so descriptive that as the story unfolded you were able to be catapulted there to watch everything unfold first hand. However, this is also where the rich vacation in the summers and those of us in a lower class bracket can relate much easier. Especially with the help of Ruthie; the beloved character in this tale. She has a downfall of bad luck and not being able to catch a break to save her sweet life. Whether it was her friends, her mother, earning money or being on the beach when it can be a bummer - everything was so very well developed in this story that you could 100% relate to everything that was going on. I would definitely read this one again and again.
