I thought this was going to be a fluffy beach read, but it turned out to be a lot more than that. It has some very thought provoking life issues and also some very unexpected twists and turns. I did end up reading it at the beach, but while saying to my friends, "Listen to this...!" Ruthie is a loveable and relatable character. The best thing though is few of the characters are truly hateable. They are all simply complex. Likewise the book makes no promises of happily ever after, but leaves you feeling like Ruthie will make the best of it nonetheless. I'm not one to nit be able to put a book down, but this one I definitely looked forward to ever spare second to jump back in to it.
