Judy Blundell makes her adult debut with this delicious book just in time for summer reading. Fans of the typical summer island authors (Nancy Thayer, Elin Hilderbrand) will find a lot to like in this one, as well as a new dreamy summer locale. Ruthie feels like she's losing everything at once- her house, her husband, her job- and she's stuck as an average joe in a highly moneyed environment. This is an interesting take that features the perspectives of the other-other half- the normal people doing normal jobs in a playground of the very wealthy. I loved Ruthie's response to a lot of the situations she's in- she doesn't always take the high ground, she responds emotionally and sometimes makes choices with consequences. A quick read, one that's perfect for porches and beach towels this summer!
