I didn’t finish this one, which is somewhat unusual for me. I just couldn’t get on board with most of these character (highly unlikeable) or motivation of the characters. It is a lot of rich vs. poor but I just don’t really know what the point is here. Ruthie was fine, but her choices were frustrating and I mostly just felt like shaking her and telling her to WAKE UP and leave this little ol’ town - there are plenty other places to be! And when i just can’t get invested in the love story in a book I’m just over it and in this book specifically I just don’t get it. The love interest is perfectly hateable. I don’t think this is the right current culture for a book like this. I didn’t feel good about spending my time reading it...
